Activities report June 2026

Again, we have had a month of limited activities. But we have the mid winter lunch coming up on the 24th June. If you have not put your name down for this lunch please do so. The restaurant needs final numbers in the next few days. We had a good turnout last year therefore please support this event.

The highlight for this month was the morning at Black and White Café in Kaiapoi. What was so pleasing to see was the number of members who turned up. A total of 28 members arrived to have coffee or tea plus the cabinet food. Good to see the support for an event like this.

We are still reviewing our approach to excursions, particularly in light of rising costs and the impact on members. At this stage, I feel we need to be cautious about the total cost of a day trip, including bus fares, entry fees, and meals. As these expenses can add up and become significant for some members, we will pause excursions for the time being.
